It was glitz and pageantry as Africa’s premier CSR and Sustainability news publication honours deserving organizations and individuals with awards at the 2022 CSR Reporters’ Philanthropic Awards on Social Impact and Sustainability practices in Nigeria, 2022.
The award ceremony, which was held on Saturday, saw dignitaries from across Nigeria in attendance, including Mrs. Peju Ibekwe, CEO of Sterling One Foundation, who doubled as an awardee and guest speaker.
She charged managers to increase their commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability practices to engender a more equitable and just society.
She argued that everything begins and ends with leadership, and encouraged companies’ management to look into investing more in charitable efforts across communities.
The Publisher of CSR Reporters, a CSR and sustainability news publication, Eche Munonye, while welcoming dignitaries, noted that if a country must make quicker progress, businesses must invest part of their profits to help the government build a more equitable society.
He commended the awardees, particularly religious groups for their commitment to a better Nigeria through CSR investment, while also encouraging other organizations to imbibe the culture of giving back to the society.
Managers should increase their commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability practices to engender a more equitable and just society.
