To boost workers morale and enhance efficiency and productivity, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), has promoted 195 staff across cadres for the 2021 promotion exercise.
The Commission’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Gbenga Komolafe, disclosed that the exercise was in recognition of the resilience and hard work put in by the respective staff to meet the aspirations of the government for the upstream sector of the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
He was quoted in a statement by NUPRC as saying that the welfare of staff will continue to be the focus of his administration.
He enjoined all staff to continue to put in their best in the discharge of their responsibilities, stating that motivation of staff will continue to be a priority for him.
Underscoring the importance of SDG Targets 8.8, the International Labour Organization (ILO), stresses the need to protect labour rights and promote safe and secure working environments for all workers.
It also reiterates the importance of wages, working time, work organization and conditions of work, arrangements to balance working life and the demands of family and life outside work, non-discrimination and a host of others and effects on economic performance.
