The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has opened the 2022 Hackathon application to address Illicit Financial Flows (IFF) in ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).
In a joint statement yesterday issued by the spokespersons, Hadiza Umar, NITDA, and Azuka Ogugua, ICPC, respectively, the promoters said the IFF Project, supported by Ford Foundation Office for West Africa, will be handled by NITDA’s subsidiary, the Office for Nigerian Digital Innovation (ONDI).

“This Hackathon will also provide young Nigerians the opportunity to contribute their creativity and entrepreneurial skills by leveraging emerging technologies to combat corruption and other unethical practices impacting negatively on the socio-economic fortunes of the nation,” the statement said.
It added that the Hackathon will enable interested young applicants to initiate defined ideas and prototype solutions to check IFFs by leveraging emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud, Big data, blockchain, Quantum computing, Internet of Things, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality among others.
