The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Felix Ogbe, yesterday said the Board has advanced Local Content value in theoil & gas sector to 56% in 2024 from 54% in 2023.
Mr. Ogbe disclosed this at the ongoing 13th Practical Nigerian Content, PNC Forum in Yenogoa, Bayelsa state.
Speaking on the theme: “Defining the Next Frontier for Nigerian Content Implementation,”
He also highlighted some of the milestones achieved since the Board lunched it’s 10-Year Strategic Roadmap, which is built on five strategic pillars and supported by four enablers, and unveiled new initiatives that will drive it towards achieving its 70% target in 2027.
Some of these achievements include the commissioning of Amal Technologies and the Kwale Gas Gathering facility in Idu, Abuja and Delta State respectively.
The approval of 312 Nigerian Content Plans and issuing of 402 Nigerian Content Compliance Certificates, NCCCs.

The Executive Secretary said that through strategic partnerships it unveiled the Bell Oil and Gas’ 50,000 metric-ton integrated Oil Country Tubular Goods OCTG, facility at the Lekki Free Trade Zone., commissioned the 10,000 MT capacity galvanizing plant by Daewoo.
The establishment of the Nigeria Oil and Gas Park Scheme, NOGaPS, in Bayelsa, Cross River and Akwa Ibom states.
Also, in partnership with NedoGas, the Board inaugurated a 300 MMSCFD gas gathering and injection facility in Kwale, Delta State and another partnership with Butane Energy saw to the commissioning of a 180-metric-tonne LPG filling plant in Kaduna, and a 100-metric-tonne LPG storage and bottling plant in Katsina.
Similarly, under the HCH initiatives, the NCDMB said it began cadetship training for 63 cadets on foreign-going vessels, partnering with Shell and PETAN, it launched an internship Programme, which trained 49 graduate engineers, geologists, and geoscientists.
Mr. Ogbe added that the board also commenced the NLNG Train 7 Project Nigerian Content Human Capital Development, NC-HCD) lBasic Training for 331 Nigerians
“At the Federal University of Owerri; FUTO, in Imo State, we completed and commissioned an Engineering Design Studio and Information Hub in collaboration with NLNG.
“Similarly, we completed and commissioned an e-Library at the Niger Delta University in Amassoma, Bayelsa State, in partnership with SPDC and its JV partners.”
