Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN), has expressed plans distribute the refined products from the Dangote Petroleum Refinery once commercial terms are finalized.
The plan is sequel to the registration of members of MOMAN, including 11 Plc, Conoil Plc, Ardoval Plc, MRS Oil, OVH Energy Marketing Limited, Total Nigeria, and NNPC Retail with the Refinery, following the commencement of production activities.
A company statement on Friday, quoted the President, Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, as confirming the start of the production of diesel and aviation fuel at the Lekki-based, Lagos refinery.
The statement reads in part: “We have started the production of diesel and aviation fuel, and the products will be in the market within this month once we receive regulatory approvals. This is a big day for Nigeria. We are delighted to have reached this significant milestone.
“This is an important achievement for our country as it demonstrates our ability to develop and deliver large capital projects. This is a game changer for our country, and I am very fulfilled with the actualisation of this project.”
Dangote thanked President Bola Tinubu for his support, encouragement, and thoughtful advice towards the actualisation of this project as well as the NNPC Limited; the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC); the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), and Nigerians for their support and belief in the historic project.
He equally thanked the Lagos State Government, the bankers and financiers, and the host communities for their support.

Aside from MOMAN, other marketers, including the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PPROOAN), also disclosed plans to meet with Dangote Refinery management to discuss terms for loading of products.
The refinery had earlier confirmed receiving six million barrels of crude oil to date, with its truck-loading gantries can handle 2,900 trucks daily.
It added that “The products from the Refinery will conform to Euro V specifications. The refinery design complies with the World Bank, US EPA, European emission norms, and Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) emission/effluent norms, employing state-of-the-art technology.”
