Fidelity Bank unveils ‘Bundles of Joy’ for special needs children

By Stanley Onyeka, Lagos

Fidelity Bank Plc has announced a “Bundles of Joy” initiative, to support children with special needs and their families.

According to the bank, the initiative focused on creating inclusive spaces and activities for children between the ages four and 11 with conditions such as autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy.

In a statement yesterday, in Lagos, the Divisional Head, Brand and Communications, Fidelity Bank, Meksley Nwagboh, explained that the programme aimed to address the challenges families face in integrating their children into the society.

Dr Nwagboh was quoted saying: “This initiative underscores Fidelity Bank’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive society for children with special needs.

“Through the ‘Bundles of Joy’ programme, we are providing a variety of engaging activities, including sensory rooms, outdoor play stations, and obstacle courses, all tailored to help improve mobility and social skills.

“Additionally, we offer resources and information to help parents and caregivers better support their children.”

With the Bundles of Joy initiative, Fidelity Bank continues to demonstrate its dedication to creating meaningful impacts and fostering a society where every child is given the opportunity to thrive.

Mr. Nwagboh urged families to participate by registering their children online at: www.fidelitybank.ng/bundlesofjoy/.

He added that parents are required to provide their names, child’s name, and details about their child’s needs during the registration process.

Thereafter, Fidelity Bank said it will reach out to the families to arrange a special outing for each child in January 2025.

According to him, the ‘Bundles of Joy’ programme is part of Fidelity Bank’s broader commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), in an effort to promote inclusivity for children with special needs.

“With the Bundles of Joy initiative, Fidelity Bank continues to demonstrate its dedication to creating meaningful impacts and fostering a society where every child is given the opportunity to thrive,” he added.

In a related development, Mr. Nwagboh said the Bank’s staff also supported the Patrick Speech and Language Centre in Ikeja, Lagos State; a facility dedicated to the education and socio-economic development of children and young adults with autism recently.

He said their contributions included cash donation and gift items to enhance the learning experience of students at the centre.
