The Edinburgh Earth Initiative of the University of Edinburgh (UoE), United Kingdom, in partnership with the University of Ibadan (UI), has provided support for six students from UI who developed adaptation-related products and services.
This is in recognition that the next decade will be defined by the resilience of small, medium and large-scale enterprises to rising temperatures, extreme weather events and changing ecosystems – and by the ability of such businesses to manage the impacts of change on their customers and operations.
On account of this, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, at the University of Ibadan, Professor Oluyemisi Bamgbose, has led a delegation of UI experts to the UoE, in order to engage with relevant stakeholders.
The visit also facilitated the exploration of other areas of collaboration between UI and UoE through the signing of a University-wide MOU.
The trip was facilitated by UoE, and had the following as the delegates, including Professors Abiodun Oluwadare (Department of Forestry), Funmilola Ajani (Department of Wildlife and Ecotourism Management), and Dr. Mobolaji Omobowale (Department of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering).
