
Clara Nwachukwu is the Editor-in-Chief. She is an experienced veteran and erudite journalist with over 28 years hands-on and field experience.
Prior to this, Ms Nwachukwu was the Group Business Editor for The Guardian Newspapers.
She had over the years, also headed key divisions in highly reputable Nigerian newspapers including the Vanguard Newspapers, 234Next Newspapers, and The Punch.
Trained locally and internationally in various fields of journalism, Ms Nwachukwu holds a Master’s degree in Media and Communication from the reputable Pan Atlantic University, Lagos, and a Bachelor of Arts in English (Linguistics) from the renowned University of Lagos, Akoka.
Ms Nwachukwu’s experience in journalism cuts across various fields relating to the oil and gas, energy, financial services and general reporting, during which she interacted and interviewed past and present politicians, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo; ministers, chief executive officers, and heads of multilateral/international organisations, including Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, President, the African Development Bank, Ajay Banga, when he visited Nigeria as the President/CEO Mastercard before his appointment as the World Bank President.
Ms Nwachukwu is passionate about social justice, learning, economic development and social transformation in Nigeria and Africa, and had as a result of her experience and exposure also served in key roles in several industry associations such as the Vice Chair (Media/Publicity), Annual Bankers’ Committee Dinner, The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN); Panel Chair, Annual Seminar, Nigerian Gas Association (NGA); and a panellist in a number of national industry discussions on Oil and Gas transparency and financial services operations in Nigeria, and a host of others.
A mother and highly-respected manager, Ms Nwachukwu is also a member of several professional bodies including the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) Chartered; The Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ), and an associate Advertising Practitioners’ Council of Nigeria (APCON) as well as Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
