Professor Adeola Festus Adenikinju, is a renowned Economist and Head of Department of Economics, University of Ibadan, Oyo State. Between 1987 and 1994, he obtained B.Sc., M.Sc., and a Ph.D. from the same Department, and started off as lecturer II in 1994, and rose to the position of a Professor on October 1, 2006. He also served in various capacities in the Department of Economics. At the University level, he is a member of the University Senate, and served in many committees. He is also an external examiner to many local and international universities.
Outside of academia, Professor Adenikinju is currently a Member, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Monetary Policy Committee (MPC). He has served in many national assignments including Chairman, Finance Working Group, Nigerian Renewable Energy Master Plan 2015, and many others.
At the international level, he served as consultant in various fields to organisations such as NEPAD, European Commission, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and was a visiting scholar with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Washington D.C. He has received many national and international awards.
